campus online carpool

  1. Hi everyone,

So how does this work? Create your pin on the map by clicking on the join button. If you’re a carpooler (someone with a car) choose the green pin, a carpoolee (someone needing a drive) choose the red pin. Fill in your name, email, upload a picture if you would like, and type where and when you need/can offer a ride. This can be for rides on a weekly basis or for any one-time trip to Montreal, Truro, etc. This information can change at any time by clicking 'edit this pin'.

To include your address and place your pin on where you live, click on 'move pin' and type in your street address and city info.

With the number of cars on campus increasing yearly, there is more pressure for parking space on campus, and consequently less green space, line ups of cars idling for a prime spot in the mornings, inefficient transportation and finally, unnecessary CO2.

Why carpool when there is the bus option? It’s a good substitute for people without a car living far from a bus stop or whose schedule dosen't workout with the bus'.

An idea for the future is to reward carpoolers by having carpool tags that can clip onto the parking pass which would allow a car to park in especially reserved carpool parking spots close to school.

Any problems you encounter along the way - either post them on the blog or send an email to stusustainability@gmail.com so we can sort it out.

    Cheers!
